By having a good behaviour, one can lead the right type of life in a scholarly environment. Students as well as
teachers have to abide by respecting a code of conduct which helps them excel
at their daily duties at school. By respecting their colleagues, teachers
promote harmony in schools and this places them ahead in their day to day
tasks. On the other hand, students need to respect their fellow classmates as
the latter may be quite helpful in assisting them undertake daily routine roles
as per the instructions given by their teachers, principal and vice-principal. Codes
of conduct are crucial to student learning: it helps students behave with discipline, it allows them to accept new tasks, it guides them towards initiation of new activities, and it builds up on their strengths
(both academically and in extra-curricular activities). Codes of conduct help
teachers in their lesson planning as these guide them to maintaining discipline
in their classroom: it may be in the form of positive reinforcement to the
students, it may also initiate students to new activities at the school via media and technology, and it encourages students to being accountable for their actions. Therefore, students
have strong likelihood of becoming more responsible, and ultimately, they take upon
initiatives which lead them to promote their learning.
