MALANG

Filmed in a setting that is aimed at displaying a romantic epic love story with a powerful urge, the movie, MALANG targets something outstanding in terms of: creativity of an unimaginable degree, special effects, screenplay features, actions scenes, romantic reaches, emotional wreckages and emotional repairs, corruption - the corrupted justice system’s unjust implications, drugs and drug addictions, and some other notable themes that can be agreed upon with not much further second thoughts given from an audience of realistic movie fans. The title MALANG is a Roman alphabetized Hindi word that is translated into the English word ‘Vagrant’ – signifying someone homeless who wanders around while settling down on grounds where adaptation can find meaning to his goals and objectives. MALANG is a movie with a love story that carries on its course along lines of post-unhealthy childhood and teenage years of the protagonists and antagonists. It also depicts lifelong hatreds which end on temporary basis when true love is found. Thereafter, the life journey of the two protagonists of MALANG, Advait and Sara gives rise to the rebirth of these latter lovers’ forgotten hatreds.

The story of Advait (role played by actor, Aditya Roy Kapur) and Sara (role incarnated by actress, Disha Patani), is a love story that finds a pathway leading these two lovers to becoming bloodily vengeful. This revenge has a significant but meaningful way of showing itself as it is based on true causes for manifesting its worth in the minds of Advait and Sara.  With an intensity incomparable from any other unprecedented love stories of its kind, MALANG delivers a very strong message to its audience. Sara and Advait fall madly in love with each other after their coincidental meeting in Goa. They become very close to each other, and to each other’s dreams and intentions. As they throw themselves into each other’s arms and they embrace this new romantic life, they dismiss their misled childhoods which was filled with lack of attentions from their parted parents’ sides.

He even thought that such positivity would never come back to him at this stage of life. But, with Sara at his corner, with Sara by his side, and with Sara sharing his life’s highs and lows; Advait sees something so lovable and so well-furnished in his soul that he moves forward without any looking backwards but living in the present moment and looking forward to an optimistic future.

MALANG: Unleash the Madness

By far, this true love is more than what he had been imagining to be. With no more further thoughts to consider, he returns to his beloved love at the hastiest of speeds—simply to witness a worst nightmare being born.

MALANG: Unleash the Madness

During the short absence of her beloved soulmate, Sara seeks support from Jesse—a girl who became a prostitute as a result of wrong choices made from her own actions. In this short lapse of time spent with Jesse, Sara becomes the victimized target of a group of law enforcement officers. The latter policemen had been longing to setup one of their fellow police officer friends with Jesse—in hope of having him lose his virginity to this prostitute. Due to a confusion that arose as part of wrong messages being passed across between the policemen, Sara is mistakenly considered to be a prostitute. Consequently, Advait’s return to Sara takes a swift and abrupt turn, a change so drastic in the lives of both of these lovers that only revenge becomes the logical option to making its worth eminent enough to allow Sara and Advait live at peace with themselves.

The events that thrash the lives of Sara and Advait are filled with intense evil and dark atmospheric sentiments. After serious incidents that are interchanged between the lovers and the police officers, Sara is eventually drugged and thereafter thrown off a bridge by the police officers who had intended to disallow any evidence behind them—evidence that would certainly jeopardize their lives (both professionally and personally). Advait, on his end is also drugged, but thrown to jail for a crime which he never committed. Knowing that Sara and Advait were already into drug consumption, the policemen thought that this would be an ideal cover-up for their evil deeds. These evil deeds were composed of one of their fellow police officer friend’s violent acts on Sara while being in the forceful desire of raping her.

Sara - Disha Patani

Advait is jailed for 5 long but impactful years. Those five long years of penitence admit him to inherit a different, transformed, fearless and physically powerful man’s embodied image. At the time of his release—5 years later, Advait sets out to pursue his ultimate goal, that is: to put in action his irrevocable mission of putting an end to the lives of those police officers who had been the responsible parties for his ruptured life and that of Sara’s. One by one, each police officer who had been implicated in the immoral acts committed against Sara and himself, is violently eliminated by Advait.

The Vagrant, the 'Malang-Man', Advait - Aditya Roy Kapur

While becoming the vagrant being who wanders around in order to take on new challenges on his way, Advait encounters dangers that test his physical strengths to an extreme limit. MALANG is the movie with the title that defines and portrays Advait as this vagrant man or ‘Malang-Man’.

MALANG: Unleash the Madness

An epic love story with so much powerful moments that feature in it, MALANG has a very important message to teach to the world of today. This message is based on facts that apply to us all, human beings on this worldly planet. It makes one realize that all men and women have a designated journey to go through in life. At one point, across the road or on the pathway through life’s journey, one does encounter all kinds of evil beings on this planet—living beings with unworthy foundations of leading the rightful life… living beings who are thirsty for showing their evil behaviours in calm, quiet and striking manners. Inflicting pain and harm on others is their solemn valuable attainability’s worth, yet, they survive daily with no fears and with no doubts about their culprit selves. Eliminating such evil beings can be really unhealthy to deal with. By allowing the Law of Karma to deal with such immoral beings, one permits God to handle such worthless beings in his own Godly ways. On the other hand, a man’s (or, a woman’s) planned objective in taking revenge by eliminating such useless souls can be one ‘hell of a task’ to work on as well. A revenge, with a vengeance deadly enough to be executed, requires highly effective accuracy for its becoming concrete reality. In this unique situational story of Advait and of Sara, Advait plans his initial vengeful acts as from the beginning of his years spent in prison. Aditya Roy Kapur, Disha Patani, Anil Kapoor and Kunal Khemu in the leading roles of the movie, MALANG, deliver something really remarkable on the big screen - something for a true audience of movie-goers and movie fans to entertain themselves with in a whole different world of an 'out-of-ordinary' love story.
