A Review and an Account of the book
By Vimal
Kodai
While establishing an equilibrium to the diet of a
deteriorating world, the writer of Preserving Oneness of Humanity looks
for answers to questionable themes that are of high relevance; for instance: ‘discrimination’,
‘racism’, ‘disharmony’, ‘oppressive authority’, ‘political pressure’ and ‘political
tension’, ‘violence’, ‘disharmony’, ‘disunity’, ‘state of unrest’, ‘disaccord’,
‘humanity’s disorientation’, ‘humanity’s unwanted thoughts and ideals’, ‘human disagreements’
and ‘human pessimism’. Preserving Oneness of Humanity, V.M Gopaul’s
latest book shows how each of these prior themes impact on today’s general global
state. As such, the author sets up the initial course of his book by using
precise exemplary portions of human history, and by using his own personal ‘parcours’
to display the main worth behind his book’s message.
The several questions taken up in this latest
book by V.M Gopaul are as follows:
1.
Is the message from each sacred scripture so different that one has to
seek for different approaches while trying to restore one’s humanity and
sanity?
2.
Why is there the need to have the idea of oneness among all of us?
3.
Does the idea of oneness appeal to each of us (humans)?
4.
Is being equal and is seeking equality so hard and so tough to keep in
mind?
5.
Is harmony such a terrible or difficult task to work on?
6.
Is kindness and is showing mutual respect so uneasy to practice?
7.
Is the idea of being united so unique and so valuable that one cannot
really find time to maintain it in one’s daily life?
Such questions have no unique answer(s) to them. In
fact, these have several answerable answers to them. While the author attempts
to debrief on each aspect of developing oneness and equality among each of us,
he adopts a strategic way to creating an atmosphere firm and steady enough to
capture the main objective(s) of the message he wants to deliver.
As he portrays that social tension is
depleting global peace, he even states that social justice is having its grip
on an indifferent and unhealthy society. The author shows how certain key
figures with ‘supposedly’ leadership qualities detract the idea of being
exemplary as most of the time, they are morally incorrect.
V.M Gopaul devotes time towards keeping his readers
informed about the root of social injustice—leading to violence and racist
acts. Convincingly, the writer shows that inside each human being lies an
instinct which has both evil and good qualities. Thus, he goes back in time,
back to our human history to explain how violence erupted many years ago. How
its impact on today’s world has been big enough to prevent us from being
carefree and ignorant about all of its occurrences.
The writer even writes about racism as he
attempts to give replies to several questions; such as:
1.
How does racism originate itself?
2.
What is racism?
3.
How does racism impact on our society?
The author states that racism does not arise from
the minds of infants. It emerges from the way issues and facts are being addressed
in the household environment. It is also born from certain unwanted ideas and unneeded
thoughts that are being spread out by the immediate entourage of a young child
when the latter is still at an early stage of growth. Certain ideologies and certain
main philosophies that are being put in the minds of young children keep them
dwelling on being ‘hateful’ and ‘racist’ towards other cultural groups or
different skin-type races. However, the author states that certain ideologies
have also been born from the beliefs instated by certain political and
religious figures whose authoritative aptitudes, manipulative influences and
brainwashing words develop wicked ideals with racist approaches towards other
diverse ethnic group of individuals.
The author explains how DNA or the biological nature
of our human ancestry affects our present state of reasoning. Thus, he relates
on the source of hindrance and villainy which has englobed our world for a long
time - going from our tribal groups to our civilization trends, from religious
beliefs to our social divisions, and, from tribal conflicts to global wars.
Among other infiltrating filths that are
present in our society, are gossips and ruthless words that resonate from
ignorant minds and from ignorance-driven individuals who lack the true notions
of being called humans. The author of Preserving Oneness of Humanity attributes
other developmental rudeness and impoliteness of our society to the way words
are being misinterpreted. He suggests that an adequate education and a
formation with the right fruitful components results in better chances for
individuals to display clear perceptions about the world—with an open-minded
self, enlightening and prospective enough to go the distance optimistically.
Preserving Oneness of Humanity deterministically
admits that the idea of ‘being forgiving without forgetting the pain caused’ is
by all means possible. One simply needs to take away the burdened thoughts that
are filled with negativities from the mind to thereby heal oneself from all the
unwanted causal sufferings. Being accountable for one’s actions, being
understanding, and having pure-minded beliefs are crucial to keeping one away
from useless divisive thoughts about the communal society. Being forgiving by lessening hateful beliefs
on others are also worthy traits that create harmony in the society.
Preserving Oneness of Humanity is a book that can also be
regarded as a worthy referring resource with guiding sets of knowledge to plunge oneself into. It has the right ingredients
to enrich the mind of its readers with plenty of peaceful resolutions.
Nevertheless, it critically analyzes several subjective views that are filled
with contradictions and misleading interpretations. Past experiences gathered
from the author’s personal journey, and analytical understandings from several
historical events of our human history are the main tactical criteria used to
make Preserving Oneness of Humanity a unique book to all those readers
who have the aspiration for living a peaceful life—free from racism and
disharmony.
